March’s List of Upcoming Young Artists

070 Shake

070 Shake (and her whole 070 squad) are on the rise. 070 Shake is a dope female rapper/singer, bringing an original sound back to rap. Following in Fetty Rap lead, 070 Shake is predicted to be the next big voice out of New Jersey. Her rap/R&B fusion is a different sound, and starting to catch the eye of many big names throughout the industry. Social media mogul Yes Julz discovered her through 070 Shake’s signature new music mondays. Julz has since then become her manager and taken Shake and the 070 family under her wing.  After Yes Julz’s cosign, she was introduced to platinum recording artist Usher, and has a song with Vado on the horizon. Her debut song  “Swervin”, a chill and contemporary vibe, has over 75k plays. Even though so far Shake has only released a small amount of songs out to the public, her music is enjoyable and only expected to get better with experience.

Lexii Alijai

Lexii Alijai is another female rapper breaking out in a predominantly male industry. Alijai hails from the St. Paul, Minnesota area, a state people usually don’t look to for rap music. Alijai is a great lyricist, and displays her talent in the content within her tracks. Alijai is a great fresh face for the female side of Hip Hop and it looks like she has a bright future ahead of her. She gained exposure through her feature in Kehlani’s sophomore project  “You Should Be Here” on the song “Jealous”.

Alijai has a couple good, raw projects you can check out on her Soundcloud account right now, but expect more buzz coming her way.

Lil Uzi Vert

The city of Philadelphia has been catching several L’s in the past years from the Drake vs. Meek Mill beef to their terrible sports teams. However, if there is a bright spot in the city “where it is always sunny”, it would be the rise of Lil Uzi Vert. Lil Uzi Vert exploded on the scene when he released his project “Luv is Rage”.  His fast rapping ability and great song creation is starting to make him a stand out in the game. He is also known for being a hell of a live act.Uzi arguably performed one of his best sets during the inaugural memorial concert “Yams Day”, alongside a star studded lineup which included the A$AP Mob, Joey Bada$$, amongst others. He also collaborated with buzzing rap star Young Thug on the banger “Big Racks”. You heard it here: Lil Uzi Vert is not only a a rising star but it’s a only matter of time until he is a household name.

Anderson .Paak

Anderson .Paak is a California based neosoul artist, leaving his mark on the music of 2016. The artist, formerly known as Breezy Lovejoy,  sent out a very relaxing and positive vibe on his project “Malibu”.  .Paak received absurd levels of praise from rap’s royalty on the his work. Kendrick Lamar personally thanked .Pakk for dropping this project, stating that it “finally gave him something to listen to”.  “Malibu” also got the attention of California rap mogul and billionaire Dr. Dre , who consequently made Anderson the newest member of the Aftermath label. You can also see .Paak featured on Dr. Dre’s “Compton” album. If you are a fan of the collective “The Internet”, “The Weeknd”, and other unique R&B artists then .Paak is the artist you should be checking out. His project is filled with special guests from SchoolBoy Q, The Game, to the 9th Wonder, all coming together for the  creation of one of the best projects throughout the first quarter of the year. Anderson .Paak is on the rise of stardom and the funk vibe he’s bringing to his  forefront is the  reason why.
